Introduction
This online guide is published by the UK Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) as an aid to pre-flight planning and contains guidance on the addressing of flight plans.
UK AIS strongly recommends that the IAIP published by the State is consulted during the planning of international flight operations. The information in this guide has been extracted from those AIPs received by UK AIS under the mutual exchange mechanism and provides information extracted from the ENR Section 1.11 - Addressing of Flight Plan Messages.
Users should note that nothing in the guide should be taken as qualifying any legislation or regulatory requirement and that the only authoritative source of information is contained in the publication issued by each state.
Individual countries requirements are subject to change without notice. This information is available as a guide only and whilst care has been taken in its compilation NATS cannot accept responsibility for errors or omissions. VFR Flight Planning
Following the recent introduction of the Assisted Flight Plan Exchange Service (AFPEx), an online flight planning tool, the decision has been taken to remove all the VFR elements from the Random Flight Plan Address Book. All information for VFR Flight Planning is accessible from the UK AIP and is avaiable free of charge. Details are contained in the sections ENR 1.10 and ENR 1.11 .
Electronic Media
UK AIS recommend that operators should consult the appropriate AIPs produced by the transitted/destination states. However, the Random Flight Plan Address Book continues to be maintained by UK AIS to support flight plan addressing requirements for flights departing the UK to destinations beyond the Integrated Flight Planning System (IFPS) region.
Many AIS offices are taking the opportunity to make their information available via the internet or as a CD-Rom. Consequentially, to ensure that customers are given access to up to date information, AIS will provide direct links to online versions of AIP in preference to reproducing a separate entry in this guide.
AIS will continue to make available information for those States that do not make their AIP available online. The list of AIPs and the media available can be identified by following this link:

European IAIP
The UK AIS Foreign Library no longer maintains copies of European AIP as these are now accessible using a free internet service made available by the European AIS Database (EAD). Customers wishing to consult AIP using this free service are required to register. All European AIPs with the exception of Greece are available in pdf format by using this link:
